Welcome our newest team member, Keysha Taylor

The Paul M. Angell Family Foundation is thrilled to introduce Keysha Taylor (she/her).

Keysha is the Manager of Talent and Culture, where she’ll play a pivotal role in talent management and culture-building efforts. Keysha brings a wealth of expertise in staff development, engagement and organizational culture.

Before joining the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, Keysha worked across the education technology and nonprofit sectors, having transitioned into human resources from the hospitality industry. She has a diverse background that includes experience with start-ups, nonprofits like One Million Degrees, and philanthropy at the Pittsburgh Foundation.

Keysha holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Peirce College and a master’s degree in human resources management from Temple University. She is a Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and an active member of the National Association of African Americans in Human Resources (NAAAHR). Her experience and dedication make her a key driver in fostering a strong, dynamic workplace culture.

When not engaging with staff, Keysha loves to travel; taking long distance bike trips or flights to other countries. She also enjoys relaxing at home with her family and houseplants.

The Paul M. Angell Family Foundation is thrilled to introduce Tom Grasso (he/him).

We are pleased to announce that Thomas V. Grasso has joined our team as the Senior Program Officer for Conservation. Tom will be leading the Foundation’s development and implementation of a major new international grantmaking portfolio to increase the legal capacity to support marine conservation.

Tom brings to this new role over 25 years of experience working in ocean conservation and sustainable development having worked on such programs and initiatives in Europe, Africa, the Americas, southeast Asia and the Pacific.

He brings extensive experience in building effective partnerships and governance systems in support of the conservation, protection of nature for the benefits of people and communities that rely on those resources for their livelihoods. He holds a Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law at the American University in Washington DC and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Rochester.

Tom will be reaching out to grantees working on legal aspects of marine conservation over the coming weeks and months – please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like more info!

Meet our new team members

The Paul M. Angell Family Foundation is thrilled to introduce two new members of our team: Vanessa Dalpiaz and Jazsmin Jackson.

 

Vanessa Dalpiaz has been hired as our Program Associate, Performing Arts. Vanessa will support the foundation’s performing arts portfolio and engagement efforts.  She believes firmly in the transformative power of the performing arts and in the importance of creating greater access to well-funded and high-quality arts and culture institutions. We are grateful to the Koya Partners for leading the recruitment for this new position.

 

Jazsmin Jackson has been hired as our Administrative & Program Associate. Jazmsin will play a pivotal role in our move into new, downtown office space this summer. She will support the PMAFF’s growing administrative and program work. Jazsmin is a young professional from the West Side of Chicago ready to begin her philanthropic journey at the foundation. We are grateful to Torkelson Consulting for leading the search for this new position.

 

We are thrilled to welcome Vanessa and Jazsmin and are excited for you to get to know them. We look forward to crossing paths with you soon. In the meantime, happy summer!

 

2025 Grant Cycle Dates

July 30, 2024

The Foundation is pleased to announce the grant cycle dates for:

Fall 2025

  • We will begin accepting LOIs (Letters of Inquiry) and Applications for the Fall 2025 cycle on June 16, 2025
  • LOIs are due July 10, 2025 (for SI applicants only)
  • Full applications are due August 21, 2025 (for CON or PA applicants, or SI applicants whose LOIs were approved)
  • Awards will be announced by early November 2025

 

Please note that:

  • All deadlines are at 11:59 PM, Central Time
  • CON and PA applicants are not required to submit a LOI
  • Applications for any CON requests and PA new requests are by invite-only in the fall 2025 cycle

Meet our new team members

The Paul M. Angell Family Foundation is thrilled to introduce two new members of our team: Luis Gonzales and Juli Farley.

 

Luis Gonzales has been hired as our Director of Talent and Culture. Luis will lead the PMAFF’s human resources and will build this department over time. He will support our team as we embed DEIB policies and practices into everything we do. We are grateful to the Morten Group for leading the recruitment for this new position.

 

Juli Farley has been hired as our Office & Operations Manager. Juli will lead our move into new, downtown office space this summer. In addition to setting up and managing the foundation’s office, Juli will manage a significant portion of the PMAFF’s growing administrative work. We are grateful to Torkelson Consulting for leading the search for this new position.

 

We are thrilled to welcome Luis and Juli and are excited for you to get to know them. We look forward to crossing paths with you soon. In the meantime, happy summer!

The Foundation is Hiring!

The Paul M. Angell Family Foundation seeks a visionary changemaker to evaluate, lead, and guide the strategies and action of the Foundation’s Social Impact work.

The PMAFF’s Chicago grantmaking in Social Impact promotes equitable, safe, and thriving communities, particularly for ALAANA (African, Latino/a, Asian, Arab, and Native American) people living in historically disinvested communities.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Director of Social Impact will be responsible for positioning the program for significant growth in grantmaking and staffing. To accomplish this, they will convene, facilitate, and synthesize information from a diverse range of disciplines and sources, develop and leverage collaborative relationships with partners, and supervise a team of staff to build on and expand the Social Impact portfolio. They will serve as a member of the leadership team with two direct reports and will participate in the overall change management of the Foundation.

This is a full-time, exempt, hybrid position located in Chicago, IL.

The Foundation is pleased to announce the grant cycle calendars for 2024. All LOIs and applications are due on the deadline date on or before 11:59 PM, Central Time, unless otherwise noted.

*Please note, Performing Arts (PA) and Social Impact (SI) cycle due dates are on a different schedule than the Conservation (CON) cycle.
